Well, what can I tell you about me........
Born and brought up in Beautiful Perthshire and still here. Can't imagine living anywhere else really.
Was always art mad as a child, and very supportive parents encouraged me - that'll teach 'em!
I studied Illustration and Printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone Art College in Dundee for 4 years. And After 4 years and a Honours Degree in colouring - in, it was time to get a job............!!!
I worked part-time as the Glass engraver at Caithness Glass for 4 years. So now I can colour-in and scratch glass!
Working on my own art in the background, until the time came to make the descision to leave the paying job and become an ARTIST!
It has taken time to get going, but now I can't imagine doing anything else.
I spend my days and nights! doing a job I love in my studio in the garden. My Shed is an oasis of clutter and mess and sometimes calm.
Our dog Murphy keeps me company, especially when the heater/pet pacifier is switched on, or when there is food on the go.
When I'm not in the shed you can find me at
Scone Game Fair, Moy Fieldsports Fair and Blair Atholl Horse Trials.
My Work.
I'm a wildlife artist, but love to draw all types of animals.
A bit of illustration work including two children's books by Katrina Candy.
"Captain Partridge and the Fire People" and The latest one is "Stag Munro"
And of course my cartoons and caricatures
I have always loved detail and working with pencil. It allows me to get all the little details and hairs on the animals I love to draw.
My cartoons are watercolour based, then pencil, then anything else that works!
I work from photographs to capture a true likeness, and currently working through a good list of lovely commissions.
I have a wish list of my dream pictures and always looking for good photographs for reference. So if you post a fantastic photo on facebook you might just get an email! I also work with a couple of fantastic photographers, These guys get the shots I can only dream of!
And if you would like to visit me and my studio/shed please get in touch as I'll need some warning.............. so I can tidy up!
